Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone faceoff before UFC 246

McGregor (21-4) returns for the first time since losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov in a UFC Lightweight Championship bout in October 2018. The Irishman has not experienced success in the UFC since winning the lightweight title from Eddie Alvarez in November 2016.

Cerrone (36-13) is currently on a two-fight losing streak after being defeated by Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje in 2019. Before then, “Cowboy” had impressed with consecutive victories against Alexander Hernandez, Mike Perry, and Al Iaquinta.

Round one

McGregor comes in but misses with a straight left hand. He’s now smashing the nose of Cerrone with his shoulders from inside the clinch. They separate and McGregor connects with a brilliant left high kick.

Cerrone has fallen down after some big shots. McGregor is raining down some big punches, Cerrone is covering up. He’s not fighting back and referee Herb Dean steps in to stop the fight. It’s over. McGregor has mauled Cerrone in less than a minute.
