The Body Lock brings you play-by-play updates and live results from Aleksei Oleinik vs. Maurice Greene at UFC 246 in Las Vegas.

UFC 246 is a PPV event and that means that fans in the United States can watch all of the fights live by ordering the event via ESPN+.

Oleinik (57-13-1) had a great 2018 with wins against Junior Albini and Mark Hunt but much of the hype around him has disappeared following losses to Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris in 2019. Oleinik has been knocked out in the first round of his last two bouts.

Greene (8-3) won his first three fights in the UFC, including his debut win at The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale in November 2018. Greene’s winning streak came to an end in October last year when he was defeated by Sergey Pavlovich in the first round.

Aleksei Oleinik vs. Maurice Greene play-by-play

Round one

A low kick from Greene sends Oleinik to the mat immediately. Oleinik comes forward but walks into an uppercut from Greene. Greene is throwing massive punches. Oleinik advances again and gets into the clinch. Greene goes for a kimura but this allows Oleinik to get the takedown. Oleinik slides into side control beautifully. He’s now pushing down on Greene, who has his feet against the cage trying to push off.

Oleinik locks his hands and has a nasty position here against Greene. Greene slips from the position and almost has Oleinik in a triangle/armbar attempt. Greene is attempting plenty of submissions — which is not usually recommended against Oleinik.

Oleinik now on top again after a brief moment on the feet. He pushes down on the knees and gets into mount. Greene’s resting against the cage, though, so he’s not flat on the mat. He’s tight on top now and advances into the scarf hold position. All of Oleinik’s weight is now crushing Greene. Oleinik is pulling real hard on the scarf hold and Greene starts smashing him with left hands from the bottom. Greene survives the round, but that’s a round in the books for Oleinik.

Round two

Greene lands a right hand to start round two. he’s now working the body of Oleinik with hooks. Oleinik looks fatigued after attempting to submit Greene for most of round two.

Greene is circling but allows Oleinik to come forward and push him against the cage. Greene pushes off and lands a heavy knee to the head. Oleinik drops down for a takedown. He’s going for a double-leg against the cage. Greene trying to sprawl but Oleinik picks up and slams to his right. He lands in half guard.

Slower pace on the mat this round. Oleinik staying heavy — he’s looking for the Ezekiel choke. Greene trying to push on the hips of Oleinik and create some space. Eventually goes for a kimura but uses it to try and get back to his feet.

Oleinik moves into mount and then hunts for a belly-down armbar. Greene puts up a fight before submitting to the armbar in round two.
