Renato Moicano and Chris Duncan will face each other in the main event of UFC Fight Night on Saturday at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas, despite training together at American Top Team. The lightweight bout features Duncan as the betting favorite at -160, while Moicano comes back at +135 according to DraftKings Sportsbook.
The preliminary card begins at 5 p.m. ET, with the main card starting at 8 p.m. ET on Paramount+. The event features 13 fights total, with the five-round main event closing out the evening.
Moicano enters the fight looking to snap a two-fight losing streak. The 36-year-old Brazilian holds a career record of 20-7-1 and last won in September 2024.
His recent losses came against top competition, including a unanimous decision defeat to Beneil Dariush on June 28, 2025, and a submission loss to Islam Makhachev in a short-notice title shot. Before that streak, Moicano won four consecutive fights, with three ending by stoppage.
Duncan Riding Four-Fight Win Streak
Duncan brings a 15-2 record into Saturday’s bout and has won his last four fights. The 32-year-old most recently defeated Terrance McKinney by submission at UFC 323 on December 6, 2025.
He earned his UFC contract in 2022 after knocking out Charlie Campbell at Dana White’s Contender Series 48. Duncan has seven career wins by knockout, four by submission, and four by decision.
Experts predict the fight will end before the 2.5 round mark. Both fighters have a history of finishing opponents, with four of Duncan’s last five fights ending inside two rounds.
Moicano has seen 11 of his previous 14 bouts finish before the midway point of the third round. His submission game has produced 10 wins, while he also has two knockout victories and eight decision wins.
Training Partners Face Off
The American Top Team connection creates a unique dynamic for Saturday’s fight. Duncan said the mutual respect between the two fighters will make for an exciting matchup.
“We have so much respect for each other that it’s going to be fighting and it’s going to be an equalizer on Saturday night,” Duncan told reporters. “Whoever wins, wins.”
Duncan expressed excitement about the five-round format. “I feel like I get to express myself a little bit better with the five rounds,” he said.
Moicano acknowledged the pressure of trying to end his losing streak in a main event slot. “It’s never good to lose,” Moicano said Wednesday. “It’s terrible. But it’s so good when you win; I want to get that feeling of winning again, especially in the main event.”
The co-main event features a women’s strawweight bout between third-ranked Virna Jandiroba and seventh-ranked Tabitha Ricci. Jandiroba is listed at -130, while Ricci sits at +110.
Odds have shown slight variation across different sportsbooks, with some listing Duncan as high as -162 and Moicano at +136. The under 2.5 rounds prop bet is priced at -130 at most books.
