It’s still early in the UFC 239 fight card, but Song Yadong might have already locked up a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus after knocking out Alejandro Perez in the first round.
Yadong’s intentions were clear early; he wanted to get rid of Perez as fast as possible. When Perez moved forward and tried to close the distance, Yadong planted his feet and let go of some heavy punches. That was just a sign of things to come.
As Perez attempted a left leg kick, Yadong answered back quickly with a thunderous right hand that sent Perez straight to the mat. The stoppage officially came at two minutes and four seconds into the first round.

Yadong now moves to 4-0 in the UFC and 15-4 as a professional. Since joining the UFC in November 2017, he’s now picked up wins against Bharat Khandare, Felipe Arantes, Vince Morales and now Alejandro Perez.
By getting Perez out of the Octagon quickly at UFC 239, it’s likely that Song Yadong will feature on the upcoming UFC card in Shenzhen, China. That event is scheduled to take place on August 31 and will be headlined by Jessica Andrade vs. Weili Zhang.
