Norma Dumont will face Joselyne Edwards in a women’s bantamweight bout at UFC Vegas 117 on Saturday, April 25, at the Apex Center in Las Vegas. The fight is scheduled for 10:15 p.m. ET and will stream on Paramount+.
Edwards is stepping in on short notice to replace Yana Santos, who withdrew due to injury. The 29-year-old last fought in February, giving her roughly two months between bouts.
Betting Lines Favor Dumont
Dumont enters as the favorite with odds of -245, while Edwards sits at +200 as the underdog according to multiple sportsbooks. The over/under is set at 2.5 rounds, with the over heavily favored at -500 and the under at +340.
DraftKings is offering Edwards to win inside the distance at +700 and a Round 1 finish at +2000. Expert picks from Action Network favor Edwards on the moneyline at +200 and her Round 1 points spread of -1.5 at +320.
Dumont brings a 13-2 record into the fight, while Edwards holds a 17-6 mark. Both fighters would be in title contention if not for Kayla Harrison’s injury delaying the bantamweight division.
The 34-year-old Dumont comes in riding a six-fight winning streak. She has won all six bouts by decision, with five unanimous and one split decision.
Her most recent victory came against Ketlen Vieira, though the split decision result drew some disagreement from fans and media. Dumont has not fought since September 2024, making this her first appearance in over seven months.
Edwards Riding Momentum
Edwards has experienced a career resurgence over the past two years. She was 4-5 in the UFC in early 2024 but has since won four straight fights, all by stoppage.
The winning streak includes victories over Nora Cornolle and Priscilla Cachoeira. Against Cornolle, Edwards secured takedowns and eventually found a submission in the second round.
Both fighters have faced challenges making weight at 135 pounds. Dumont initially struggled after moving down from women’s featherweight but has successfully made weight in her last six fights.
Edwards missed weight three times in a five-fight span but has hit the mark in her recent winning streak. The short-notice nature of this fight raises questions about whether she can make weight again.
Dumont stands 5’7″ with a 67-inch reach, while Edwards is slightly taller at 5’8″ with a 70-inch reach. Dumont lands 3.89 strikes per minute with 50% accuracy, compared to Edwards’ 4.61 strikes per minute at 53% accuracy.
Dumont averages 1.56 takedowns per fight with 56% accuracy and defends takedowns at 68%. Edwards averages 1.43 takedowns per fight with 40% accuracy and 61% takedown defense.
The winner will likely move closer to a title shot once the bantamweight division resumes activity following Harrison’s recovery. Both fighters have proven they belong among the top contenders at 135 pounds.
