Jose Aldo celebrates after his UFC victory

Jose Aldo remains the betting favorite over Marlon Vera.

The pair face each other in a ranked bantamweight bout that will co-headline the UFC Vegas 17 card taking place tonight.

When the fight was first announced, Aldo — currently on a three-fight losing streak — opened as the -125 favorite.

Vera — coming off a huge win over Sean O’Malley — opened as a slight +105 underdog, meanwhile.

However, with just hours to go for the event, Aldo is now ranging from a -135 to -159 favorite. Vera on the other hand ranges from a +105 to +136 underdog.

That means you would have to bet $135 to win $100 on Aldo while a $100 stake on “Chito” would earn you a profit of as much as $136.

It appears there is more confidence in Aldo returning to the win column than Vera earning undoubtedly the biggest win of his career. However, it’s certainly good value if you’re predicting an upset for Vera who is more than capable of coming out on top.

Here are the opening odds for the pair’s last five fights:

  • vs. Marlon Moraes (L): +135
  • vs. Alexander Volkanovski (L): -185

  • vs. Andre Ewell (W): -195
