    TLDR

    • Baisangur Susurkaev will fight Eric McConico at UFC 322 on November 15 at Madison Square Garden
    • Susurkaev made his UFC debut just four days after winning his Contender Series fight, submitting Eric Nolan in round two at UFC 319
    • The 24-year-old Russian is undefeated at 10-0 with nine stoppage victories
    • McConico enters the fight 10-3-1, coming off a split decision win over Cody Brundage at UFC Vegas 109
    • UFC 322 is headlined by Jack Della Maddalena vs Islam Makhachev for the welterweight title

Baisangur Susurkaev will return to the octagon on November 15 when he faces Eric McConico at UFC 322. The event takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Multiple sources confirmed the middleweight matchup to MMA Fighting. The bout was first reported by Real Kevin K.

Susurkaev made headlines last month with one of the fastest turnarounds in UFC history. The 24-year-old Russian knocked out Murtaza Talha in the first round on Dana White’s Contender Series to earn his UFC contract.

Just four days later, Susurkaev made his promotional debut at UFC 319 in Chicago. He fought Eric Nolan and won by rear-naked choke in the second round.

The quick turnaround drew comparisons to his teammate Khamzat Chimaev. Chimaev famously fought three times in his first two months with the UFC.

Despite winning his debut, Susurkaev was critical of his own performance. He told MMA Junkie the fight was “very bad” and that making weight twice in one week affected him.

Nolan provided resistance to Susurkaev’s wrestling in the first round. He even wobbled the Russian on the feet late in the opening frame.

Susurkaev trains with Chimaev and Kill Cliff FC. He holds a perfect 10-0 professional record with nine stoppage wins, seven coming in the first round.

For his second UFC appearance, Susurkaev had a full training camp to prepare. He is targeting a first-round knockout victory at UFC 322.

“I know he’s a good wrestling defense, not bad,” Susurkaev said about McConico. “Good cardio, good fighter. I am better.”

    Opponent Background and Future Goals

McConico is a product of MMA Lab in Arizona. The 35-year-old American joined the UFC in February with a loss to Nursulton Ruziboev at UFC Seattle.

He bounced back with a split decision victory over Cody Brundage at UFC Vegas 109 last month. McConico carries a 10-3-1 professional record with seven stoppage wins.

Susurkaev has ambitious plans for his UFC career. He wants to fight multiple times in 2026 and reach title contender status by the end of next year.

“Couple fights, couple wins, and take big money,” Susurkaev said about his 2026 goals. “Maybe after one year, then for title or contender fights.”

The Russian middleweight is friends with current division champion Khamzat Chimaev. However, he has his own plans to capture UFC gold.

Susurkaev wants to break defense records held by legends like Jon Jones and Anderson Silva. Both fighters defended their titles 14-15 times during their championship reigns.

“I want to take title and do defense more than Jon Jones or Anderson (Silva),” Susurkaev said. “Being the best in the world all-time.”

Money is a driving factor for the young fighter. He wants to provide for his family and loved ones through his fighting career.

The UFC 322 prelims will air on ESPN+ and ESPNews. The main card is available on ESPN+ pay-per-view.

The welterweight title fight between Jack Della Maddalena and Islam Makhachev headlines the event. The co-main event features a women’s flyweight title bout between Valentina Shevchenko and Zhang Weili.
