King Green pulled off a dramatic comeback victory over Terrance McKinney at UFC 329 on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Green stopped McKinney with just one second remaining in the first round after spending most of the fight in serious trouble.
The 39-year-old veteran was bloodied early and appeared close to defeat multiple times during the opening round. McKinney landed clean punches that opened a cut on Green’s head and hammered him with body shots.
McKinney Dominated Early
McKinney took the fight to the ground midway through the round and moved into mount position. He rained down punches and attempted a rear-naked choke while Green tried to survive.
Green managed to escape the submission attempts and get back to his feet with time running out. Despite the damage he had absorbed, Green began talking trash to McKinney during the fight, repeatedly calling him a “one-minute b****.”

“I felt him slowing down, so it was only a matter of time before I caught up to him,” Green said after the fight. Green landed a hard kick to McKinney’s body that changed everything.
McKinney crumpled to the canvas near the cage. Green immediately followed up with a series of right hands to McKinney’s head.
Victory Extends Winning Streak
Referee Kerry Hatley stopped the fight at 4:59 of the first round as McKinney covered up. The stoppage came exactly one second before the bell would have ended the round.
“I was just getting warmed up,” Green said on the microphone after his win. “I know he’s tough when he’s fresh and first comes out.”
The victory improved Green’s record to 36-17-1 with one no contest. He has now won four consecutive fights following previous wins over Lance Gibson Jr., Daniel Zellhuber, and Jeremy Stephens.
McKinney dropped to 18-9 with the loss. The 31-year-old fighter has not seen a second round since July 2023, having fought eight times since then with all fights ending in the opening frame.
Green, who turns 40 later this year, showed no signs of slowing down. “I feel great,” he said after the fight.

He called for another fight soon. “I want to fight on the LA card in September,” Green told the crowd. “I can do this all year long.”
The fight opened the UFC 329 main card and may be a contender for both Round of the Year and Comeback of the Year when 2026 ends. Other main card results included Robert Whittaker’s third-round TKO of Nikita Krylov and Gable Steveson’s first-round knockout in his UFC debut.
Adrian Yanez also stopped former champion Cody Garbrandt in the first round. Green’s winning streak at lightweight keeps him relevant in a division full of younger fighters competing for position in the rankings.
