    Lone’er Kavanagh scored the biggest win of his career on Saturday night, defeating former two-time flyweight champion Brandon Moreno by unanimous decision at UFC Mexico. The judges scored the five-round main event 49-46, 48-47, and 48-47 in favor of Kavanagh.

    The event took place February 28, 2026 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City. Moreno was fighting in front of his passionate home crowd, looking to defend his status as one of the division’s elite fighters.

    Kavanagh entered the bout riding momentum and left with a decision victory that could push him toward title contention. The surging contender managed to overcome both Moreno’s experience and the pressure of competing in hostile territory.

    Martinez Defeats Vera in Co-Main Event

    In the co-main event, rising Mexican fighter David Martinez earned a unanimous decision victory over veteran Marlon Vera. All three judges scored the bantamweight bout 29-28 in favor of Martinez.

    Martinez stepped into the biggest test of his career and delivered in front of his home crowd. Vera, a former title challenger known for his durability and striking power, was unable to stop the young contender’s rise.

    The win positions Martinez as a potential player in the bantamweight division’s title picture. Vera had entered the fight hoping to reestablish himself among the top contenders at 135 pounds.

    Green Stops Zellhuber in Round Two

    King Green delivered an impressive performance on the main card, stopping Daniel Zellhuber by TKO in the second round. The lightweight bout ended at 4:55 of round two after Green dropped Zellhuber with punches.

    Green dropped his opponent with a straight left before finishing the fight. The stoppage came just five seconds before the end of the second round.

    In other main card action, Edgar Chairez defeated Felipe Bunes by split decision in a flyweight bout. The judges were divided, scoring it 29-28, 28-29, and 29-28 for Chairez.

    Imanol Rodriguez earned a TKO victory over Kevin Borjas at 4:21 of round two in another flyweight contest. Santiago Luna won a unanimous decision over Angel Pacheco with all three judges scoring it 30-27.

    The preliminary card featured several quick finishes. Ryan Gandra needed just 41 seconds to TKO Jose Daniel Medina in the fastest finish of the night.

    Francis Marshall submitted Erik Silva with a rear-naked choke at 2:29 of round one. Damian Pinas stopped Wesley Schultz by TKO at 2:30 of the opening round.

    Ailin Perez defeated Macy Chiasson by unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) in women’s bantamweight action. Cristian Quinonez earned a unanimous decision over Kris Moutinho with all judges scoring it 30-27.

    Javier Reyes stopped Douglas Silva de Andrade by first-round TKO at 4:59. Regina Tarin won a unanimous decision over Ernesta Kareckaite in a 130-pound catchweight bout.

    The full event streamed live on Paramount+ with preliminary bouts starting at 5 PM ET and the main card beginning at 8 PM ET. The scorecards for the main event showed Kavanagh winning by scores of 49-46, 48-47, and 48-47.
