Mederos began to retreat as Jones found his rhythm on the feet. Near the end of the round, Jones landed a hard leg kick that briefly knocked Mederos off his feet.

The second round started with Jones again moving forward. Mederos responded by throwing crisp combinations to both the head and body.

Mederos tried to keep distance between himself and Jones as the round progressed. The strategy worked as he created space to land his strikes.
