UFC 323 features a bantamweight title rematch between champion Merab Dvalishvili and former titleholder Petr Yan. The event takes place Saturday, December 6 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. This marks the final pay-per-view before UFC transitions to the Paramount+ subscription model.
Dvalishvili holds a 21-4 record and has won 14 consecutive fights. He currently ranks fourth on UFC’s all-time consecutive win streak list. A victory would tie him with former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman at 15 wins.
The Georgian champion would also become the first UFC fighter to record four successful title defenses in one calendar year. Dvalishvili has already defended against top contenders in 2025. He holds the UFC record for most takedowns landed with over 100.
Dvalishvili’s Dominant Style
Dvalishvili previously defeated Yan at UFC Las Vegas in early 2023. The champion attempted 49 takedowns during that five-round fight and landed 11. Yan struggled with the pace throughout the contest.
Yan has claimed he fought injured in their first meeting. However, Dvalishvili also reportedly dealt with a hand injury during that bout. The Russian challenger has won three straight fights since the loss.
Yan held the bantamweight title in 2020 but lost it at UFC 259. He suffered defeats to Aljamain Sterling and Sean O’Malley during his title reign. The 19-5 fighter possesses superior striking but weaker wrestling compared to Dvalishvili.
Flyweight Title Defense
Alexandre Pantoja defends his flyweight championship against Joshua Van in the co-main event. Pantoja holds a 30-5 record with 12 submission victories. The 35-year-old Brazilian has never been finished in his career.
Van represents the division’s newest contender at age 24. The 15-2 fighter won five straight bouts in 2025 to earn the title shot. His only ranked victory came against Brandon Royval at UFC 317.
Pantoja has defended his title four times since winning the belt. He submitted Kai Asakura and Kai Kara-France in recent fights. Van has been taken down 10 times during his UFC career.
Former Champions Return
Brandon Moreno faces Tatsuro Taira in a flyweight matchup. Moreno is the former champion with a 23-8-2 record. The Mexican fighter has won two straight after dropping split decisions to Pantoja and Brandon Royval.
Taira holds a 17-1 record and started his UFC career 6-0. His only loss came against Royval. The 25-year-old Japanese fighter submitted Hyun Sung Park in his last bout.
Henry Cejudo returns to the octagon against Payton Talbott. Cejudo has lost three consecutive fights since coming out of retirement. The Olympic gold medalist last won in May 2020 against Dominick Cruz.
Talbott bounced back from a loss to Raoni Barcelos with a decision win over Felipe Lima. The 27-year-old holds a 10-1 record. Cejudo has stated this will be his final UFC fight.
Jan Blachowicz meets Bogdan Guskov in a light heavyweight bout. Blachowicz returned from shoulder surgery at UFC London but lost to Carlos Ulberg. The former champion has gone 1-3-1 over four years.
Guskov has won four straight fights with all victories coming by knockout or submission. The 33-year-old Uzbek fighter holds an 18-3 record. His only UFC loss came in his debut against Volkan Oezdemir.
