    • Main event features Arman Tsarukyan vs Dan Hooker in a lightweight bout with title implications
    • Co-main event sees former welterweight champion Belal Muhammad face Ian Machado Garry

    • Prelims start at 10 AM ET with main card beginning at 1 PM ET, available on ESPN+

The UFC enters new territory this weekend as the promotion holds its first event in Doha, Qatar. The card takes place Saturday at the ABHA Arena with a 14-fight lineup.

The main event pits Arman Tsarukyan against Dan Hooker in the lightweight division. Tsarukyan enters with a record of 22-3 and 9-2 in the UFC. He has won nine of his last ten fights since his debut against Islam Makhachev.

Tsarukyan has not fought since UFC 300 in April 2024. He was scheduled to face Makhachev for the lightweight title in January 2025 but withdrew two days before the event due to a back injury. His recent wins include a knockout of Beneil Dariush and a split decision over Charles Oliveira.

Hooker brings a three-fight winning streak into the matchup. The New Zealand fighter holds recent split decision victories over Mateusz Gamrot and Jalin Turner. He has been out of action for nearly a year after breaking his hand while preparing for a bout with Justin Gaethje in March.

Tsarukyan averages 3.79 significant strikes per minute with 48% accuracy. He absorbs 1.84 strikes with 53% striking defense. His grappling includes 3.25 takedowns per 15 minutes with 37% accuracy and 75% takedown defense.

The betting odds favor Tsarukyan at -500 compared to Hooker’s +375. Tsarukyan has won 14 fights by finish in his MMA career, including two of his last three UFC bouts. Hooker has gone 4-4 in his last eight UFC fights with three losses by finish.

    Welterweight Title Picture in Focus

The co-main event features Belal Muhammad against Ian Machado Garry in the welterweight division. Muhammad lost the welterweight title to Jack Della Maddalena in May at UFC 315. He had built an 11-fight unbeaten streak before that loss.

Garry comes off a strong performance against Carlos Prates after suffering his only professional loss to Shavkat Rakhmonov in December. He dominated early against Prates before facing late pressure. The odds list Garry at -250 with Muhammad at +210.

The welterweight landscape changed last weekend when Della Maddalena lost to Islam Makhachev and Prates upset Leon Edwards. These results opened up the race for the next title shot in 2026.

Jack Hermansson moves down to welterweight after competing at middleweight. The 37-year-old has over 18 UFC fights on his record. He faces Myktybek Orolbai, who won his last fight in June after a 2024 loss.

Shamil Gaziev takes on Serghei Spivac in the heavyweight division. Gaziev holds a record of 14-1 and 4-1 in the UFC with two straight wins. Spivac has lost his last two fights against top contenders and looks to end his skid.
