Former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has praised the upcoming Alex Pereira vs. Ciryl Gane fight as a superior matchup compared to a potential bout between Pereira and Jon Jones. The two fighters will compete for the interim heavyweight title at UFC Freedom 250 on June 14 at the White House.
Bisping shared his thoughts during Dana White’s announcement of the historic card. He predicted the fight will be “a world-class kickboxing match in four-ounce gloves” due to both fighters’ elite striking backgrounds.
The former champion expects the fight to stay on the feet without much grappling. Both Pereira and Gane come from high-level kickboxing backgrounds, setting up what Bisping believes will be a fast-paced striking battle.
Historic White House Event Details
UFC CEO Dana White announced the promotion will give away 85,000 free tickets for an outdoor viewing experience at the Ellipse. The park sits near the White House, allowing fans to watch the fights on large screens while seeing the actual setup.
“There’s going to be all kinds of activations in the Ellipse,” White told UFC’s YouTube Channel. “There’s going to be music, bands are going to be playing, and you can actually sit in the park and watch the fight on the screens.”
The event is believed to be the first professional sporting event ever held at the White House. It falls on President Donald Trump’s 80th birthday and is part of the United States’ 250th anniversary celebration.
White first announced Freedom Fights 250 last August after meeting with Trump at the White House. The UFC will announce how fans can claim the free tickets at a later date.

Betting Lines and Fight Analysis
Early betting odds list Ciryl Gane at -105 and Alex Pereira at -125 for the interim heavyweight title fight. The close odds reflect the competitive nature of the matchup.
CBS Sports analysts favor Gane’s athleticism and varied skill set to overcome Pereira’s power striking. However, Gane has failed in three previous bids for the heavyweight title, including losses to Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou.
His most recent title attempt ended in a no-contest after a severe first-round eye poke against champion Tom Aspinall. Despite these setbacks, analysts believe Gane has the tools to handle Pereira’s striking.
A victory for Pereira would make him the UFC’s first three-division champion. He currently holds titles in two weight classes and is moving up to heavyweight for this opportunity.
The main event features undisputed lightweight champion Ilia Topuria against interim champion Justin Gaethje. The six-fight card includes at least one American-born fighter in four of the matchups.
Other fights on the card include Sean O’Malley vs. Aiemann Zahabi at bantamweight and Bo Nickal vs. Kyle Daukaus at middleweight. UFC Freedom 250 will air live on Paramount+ on June 14.
