Steven Asplund has called out Johnny Walker for a December fight, using one of the most famous lines in UFC history to issue his challenge.
Asplund posted a video to his Instagram Stories on Saturday, borrowing Georges St. Pierre’s legendary phrase from 2006. “Johnny Walker, I’m not impressed by your performance,” Asplund said in the clip.
The callout came shortly after Walker’s heavyweight debut at UFC 332 in Salt Lake City. Walker knocked out Mick Parkin with a knee at 3:35 of the first round on October 3.

The finish earned Walker a $100,000 Performance of the Night bonus. Walker’s record now stands at 23-10 with one no contest.
The GSP Reference Explained
Asplund’s line references a moment from UFC 63 in 2006 when St. Pierre entered the cage after Matt Hughes defeated B.J. Penn. St. Pierre told Hughes he wasn’t impressed with his performance in what became one of the most awkward and memorable callout moments in the sport’s history.
Asplund continued his challenge in the video by specifying when and where he wants to fight Walker. “And come on, man, meet me in December at T-Mobile, brother, you big bastard,” he said.
The video included Walker’s social media handle on screen, making the target of the callout clear. Asplund is requesting the fight take place at UFC 335 in Las Vegas in December.
Asplund’s UFC Journey
Asplund holds an 8-2 professional record with six knockout victories. He currently stands 2-1 in the UFC after earning his contract through Dana White’s Contender Series.
The 28-year-old heavyweight trains at Minnesota Top Team and has built a reputation for his aggressive fighting style. His UFC contract came after a 16-second knockout of Anthony Guarascio on the Contender Series in September 2025.
Asplund most recently defeated Guilherme Pat by unanimous decision in August. After that fight, he told commentator Daniel Cormier he wanted tougher competition.
He called out UFC matchmakers Sean Shelby and Mick Maynard during his post-fight interview, saying he would fight whichever heavyweight they put in front of him. Now he has named his preferred opponent.
At 6 feet 5 inches tall, Asplund matches up physically with Walker, who also competes at heavyweight after moving up from light heavyweight. Walker made the division change official with his performance against Parkin at UFC 332.
The Brazilian used a clinch to set up the knee that finished the fight. The victory has already sparked discussions about potential matchups for Walker in his new weight class.
Whether Walker accepts Asplund’s challenge for UFC 335 remains unclear. The UFC has not announced any matchups for the December event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
