British UFC featherweight Harry Hardwick is recovering with his jaw wired shut after suffering a broken jaw during his fight at UFC Vegas 114 on March 14, 2026. The 13-5-1 fighter lost to undefeated prospect Marwan Rahiki when his corner stopped the fight between rounds two and three.
Hardwick posted a TikTok video nearly a week after the fight addressing a fan’s question about whether the experience was worth it. “That’s an interesting question cause right now, it’s pretty f—king dire,” he said.
The fighter detailed his current struggles with his jaw completely wired shut for the next six weeks. “My nose barely works at the best of times in the desert air when air conditioning is f—king with it; I’m waking up constantly cause I can’t breathe,” Hardwick explained.
Fight Details and Injury
The fight started competitively, with both featherweights trading strikes through the first round. Rahiki rocked Hardwick badly early in the second round and broke his jaw with a punch.
Despite the severe injury, Hardwick continued fighting for several more minutes until the bell rang. Between rounds, he told his corner about the broken jaw, and they decided to stop the fight rather than risk further damage.

Hardwick left the arena in an ambulance immediately after the fight. In a video posted from the ambulance, he maintained a positive attitude despite the injury.
“I’m OK. My jaw is obviously f*cked,” Hardwick said on Instagram. “That’s all right. I like soup. I like smoothies and I like milkshakes and I like energy drinks. So all these things, I can still have.”
UFC Support and Future Plans
The loss dropped Hardwick to 0-2 in the UFC after he also lost his debut to Kaue Fernandes on short notice. However, the UFC rewarded his performance with a $100,000 Fight of the Night bonus.
More importantly for his career, Hardwick received personal support from UFC executives after the fight. UFC Senior Vice President Hunter Campbell called to praise his performance, according to Hardwick.
UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby made a point to approach Hardwick on his way out of the cage. Shelby told him he would get another shot in the UFC despite the loss.
Hardwick explained why this support matters to him beyond just fighting. “Being in their good books is huge, especially on the rest of my career,” he said. “Being sound to them as a coach — which is my longterm plan — is massively important.”
The former Cage Warriors champion acknowledged his difficult current situation while eating only liquids. He mentioned dealing with “a lot of blood” and constant dribbling with his jaw wired shut.
Despite these challenges, Hardwick indicated the situation might be worth it due to the relationship he built with UFC leadership. Campbell and Shelby also invited him to attend UFC London, though his fighting return will take much longer.
Hardwick will spend at least six weeks on a liquid diet while his jaw heals before he can begin training again for his third UFC appearance.
