PFL’s final regular season bouts announced; headlined by Tiller vs. Goltsov

Kelvin Tiller fights Jared Rosholt at PFL 4

The final regular season matchups for Professional Fighter’s League 2019 have been announced for PFL 6 in New Jersey on August 8. The card will feature 12 bouts, divided between the heavyweight and light heavyweight divisions equally, and will determine the final seeding prior to the playoffs, scheduled to begin in October.

The event will be headlined by a heavyweight clash between former Bellator light heavyweight Kelvin Tiller and ACB alumni Denis Goltsov. Tiller most recently finished Muhammed DeReese via first-round kimura at PFL 3. Goltsov, who is currently on a four-fight finish streak, defeated Jared Rosholt via a spectacular first-round knockout at the same event. Tiller has also faced Rosholt, as the two clashed in last year’s PFL quarter-finals but was defeated via unanimous decision.

Rosholt will also appear on the card, facing Satoshi Ishii in the co-main event. Ishii was victorious in his first PFL bout, scraping past short-notice replacement Zeke Tuinei-Wily via split decision. Ishii, who is currently 2-0 since changing from Japanese to Croatian citizenship, was previously slated to make his promotional debut against 2018 champion Philipe Lins but due to undisclosed injury, Lins withdrew from the bout and will be unable to defend his PFL title. Rosholt will be hoping to improve on his current 2-3 record in PFL competition while Ishii will be confident that victory in New Jersey will see him seeded as one of the top heavyweights in the playoffs.

Also on the card is PFL 2018 light heavyweight finalist Vinny Magalhaes, who will face Rakim Cleveland. Magalhaes started this PFL season unsuccessfully after Emiliano Sordi finished him in the main event of PFL 3 via TKO while Cleveland is currently on a three-fight losing streak that includes a defeat via an impressive flying kimura at the hands of Magalhaes.

In addition, the event will feature two all-Russian clashes. The first of these is Rashid Yusupov vs. Viktor Nemkov. Nemkov formerly competed in M-1 and made his PFL debut earlier this month, defeating Cleveland via unanimous decision with all three judges scoring the bout 29-28. Fellow Russian Yusupov is currently 11-1 with his only loss coming at the hands of Cleveland. He is also 1-0 in 2019’s PFL regular season. Maxim Grishin will also face Mikhail Mokhnatkin who has previously faced notable fighters including Jiri Prochazka, Fabio Maldonado, and current UFC competitor Sergei Pavlovich.
