Asadula Imangazaliev knocked out Muay Thai legend Nong-O Hama in the second round at ONE Friday Fights 147 on March 20, but a failed hydration test prevented him from claiming championship gold. The fight took place at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The 22-year-old Russian, known as “The Dagestan Ninja,” landed a devastating combination at 0:44 of round two that left the 39-year-old Thai legend unconscious before hitting the canvas. The referee waved off the fight immediately.
Because Imangazaliev missed weight the day before the event, he was ineligible to win the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship. The title remains vacant following the bout.

Opening Round Sets the Tone
Imangazaliev showed no fear facing the eight-time ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion. He opened the fight with a push kick directly to Nong-O’s face, sending an early message about his intentions.
Nong-O adapted quickly to his opponent’s unusual striking style. The Thai veteran moved in and out of range, avoiding unorthodox attacks while landing right body kicks to establish his rhythm.
The second round ended in dramatic fashion. The two fighters traded strikes on the outside until Nong-O attempted a straight right to the body.
Imangazaliev read the attack perfectly and stepped back. He then fired a left hook to the head, followed by a right hook to the body, and finished with another left hook to the head in one fluid motion.
Undefeated Record Continues
The victory improved Imangazaliev’s overall record to 12-0. His ONE Championship record now stands at 8-0 with seven knockout finishes on the promotion’s global stage.
The Russian fighter has earned a reputation as the most dangerous competitor in the flyweight Muay Thai division. His knockout power and unpredictable striking have made him a fan favorite.
During his post-fight interview, Imangazaliev expressed interest in facing former divisional champion Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon. Such a matchup could potentially be for the vacant championship belt.
ONE Friday Fights 147 aired live on YouTube starting at 7:30 a.m. ET. The event featured multiple Muay Thai and kickboxing matches throughout the card.
The main event was scheduled as a title fight for the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship. However, the hydration test failure changed the circumstances of the bout before it began.
Despite not being able to claim the championship, Imangazaliev’s performance against a living legend solidified his status as a top contender. The knockout of Nong-O represents the biggest win of his young career.
The hydration testing protocol is designed to ensure fighter safety by preventing excessive weight cutting. Fighters who fail the test can still compete but cannot win championship titles.
Imangazaliev’s victory marks the end of Nong-O’s reign as a dominant force in ONE Championship. The Thai legend had held multiple bantamweight titles during his career with the promotion.
The ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship division now awaits a new champion. Imangazaliev appears positioned as the leading candidate to fill that vacancy in a future bout if he can meet weight requirements.
