Angela Lee will continue fighting at strawweight when ONE Championship returns to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on July 12, for ONE: Masters of Destiny.
Lee (9-1), the ONE Championship women’s atomweight champion, will face eight-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion Michelle Nicolini (5-2) in a strawweight contest that will serve as the co-main event of the evening.
The 22-year-old recently suffered her first career defeat when she lost to Xiong Jing Nan in a ONE Women’s Strawweight Championship bout at ONE: A New Era in Tokyo, Japan, in March. Lee had success on the mat during the fight and came close to submitting the champion, but Xiong Jing Nan persevered before eventually overwhelming Lee with strikes in the fifth round.

Lee will attempt to secure her first win in the strawweight division when she meets Nicolini at ONE: Masters of Destiny. Nicolini, a member of the IBJJF Hall of Fame, also enters this bout after a recent defeat, having lost to Tiffany Teo in November. Nicolini now has three wins and one defeat while competing for ONE Championship.
In the main event of ONE: Masters of Destiny, Giorgio Petrosyan will face Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy in the quarter-final stage of the ONE Super Series Featherweight Kickboxing Grand Prix.
Other notable mixed martial arts bouts on the card include Ev Ting vs. Diachi Abe, Abro Fernandes vs. Gurdarshan Mangat, and Jihin Radzuan vs. Jomary Torres.
