BRAVE CF

Jose “Shorty” Torres was one of the first UFC flyweights to have been cut by the promotion, but he was also one of the first to sign with a new promotion.

Torres signed with BRAVE CF, a Bahrainian-based MMA promotion, and his debut with the promotion has just been announced.

According to Torres’ Twitter, he will face undefeated Swedish phenom, Amir “The Prince” Albazi in his next fight.

Albazi, 25, has won all 11 of his professional fights since turning pro in 2009.

“The Prince” fights out of London, England, as part of the London Shootfighters team. He is Tapology’s second-ranked flyweight in the United Kingdom & Ireland, an incredibly impressive distinction.

Albazi is a two-time Bellator veteran, having competed for the US-based promotion at Bellator 179 and Bellator 200.

Torres, 26, will fight for the first time since his UFC release.

As a UFC fighter, Torres went 1-1, defeating Jarred Brooks while losing to Alex Perez. Prior to signing to the UFC, Torres was an undefeated two-weight world champion for the Florida-based Titan FC.

Torres held Titan’s flyweight and bantamweight titles, competing successfully at both weight classes.

Per Torres’ announcement, the fight between him an Albazi will take place at the Moa Arena in Manila, The Philippines. The event, BRAVE CF 22, will take place on Friday, March 15.
