Chris Eubank Jr. faces Conor Benn for the second time on Saturday, November 15 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. The rematch comes almost seven months after their first encounter in April. Eubank won that fight by unanimous decision over 12 rounds.
The fight continues the rivalry between the Eubank and Benn families. Their fathers, Chris Eubank Sr. and Nigel Benn, fought each other twice in world title contests during the 1990s. The sons are now writing their own chapter in this boxing rivalry.
The bout will take place at the 160-pound middleweight limit. Both fighters must adhere to the same weight restrictions from the first fight. There is a rehydration clause that prevents either man from gaining more than 10 pounds between Friday’s weigh-in and Saturday morning.
Eubank missed weight by 0.05 pounds for the first fight and was fined £375,000. However, he was on weight for fight day. Benn weighed 11 stone 2 pounds at Friday’s weigh-in for the first bout.
The first fight showed a clear advantage for Eubank. He landed 367 punches compared to Benn’s 215 punches. Eubank connected with 227 power punches while Benn landed 180.
All three judges scored the contest 116-112 for Eubank. The judges were split on five rounds: the second, seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th. They unanimously gave Eubank the opening round plus the fourth, fifth, sixth, 11th and 12th rounds.

Changes for the Rematch
Benn has stated he will use a more conservative approach in the rematch. He admitted he was too focused on getting a knockout in the early rounds of the first fight. This strategy may have cost him points on the judges’ scorecards.
Eubank has teamed up with Terence Crawford’s trainer, Brian McIntyre, for this fight. He previously worked with McIntyre for his rematch victory against Liam Smith. The change in training could bring new strategies to Eubank’s game plan.
Benn needs to make adjustments to win the rematch. Former opponent Liam Smith has suggested Benn must set up his power shots better. Smith also said Benn should control his aggression and negate Eubank’s jab.
The undercard features several fights. Jack Catterall faces Ekow Essuman in a welterweight bout. Adam Azim takes on Zaur Abdullaev at junior welterweight. Richard Riakporhe fights Tommy Welch in a heavyweight contest.
