Fedor Emilianenko vs. Quinton Jackson at Bellator Japan

Bellator Japan is only a few days away and the odds for the main event are tightening.

Fedor Emelianenko meets Quinton “Rampage” Jackson in the event’s headliner set to take place Saturday at the Saitama Super Arena.

When the matchup was announced, Emelianenko opened as a big -290 favorite while Jackson was a +230 underdog.

However, the odds are very different now. Some bookmakers have Emelianenko as a -120 favorite while Jackson is -110. Others have “The Last Emperor” as a -150 favorite while Jackson is a +120 underdog.

That means you would have to bet $150 to win $100 on Emelianenko, while a $100 stake on “Rampage” would win you $120.

It clearly appears that more money (as well as confidence) is coming in on Jackson and it’s not a surprise. After all, the former UFC light heavyweight champion is coming off a big TKO win over Wanderlei Silva.

Emelianenko, meanwhile, will be competing for the first time since his knockout loss to Ryan Bader earlier this year. It will be interesting to see what the closing odds are before the event.

Here are the opening odds for the pair’s last five fights:

Fedor Emelianenko last five fights

  • vs. Chael Sonnen (W): -200
  • vs. Frank Mir (W): -175
  • vs. Matt Mitrione (L): +110
  • vs. Fabio Maldonado (W): -2500

Quinton Jackson last five fights

  • vs. Wanderlei Silva (W): -265
  • vs. Chael Sonnen (L): -120
  • vs. Muhammad Lawal (L): +120
  • vs. Satoshi Ishii (W): -380
