Jalin Turner needed less than a minute to finish Kaue Fernandes at UFC 330 on Saturday night at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. The lightweight bout ended at just 39 seconds of the first round.
Turner came out aggressive from the opening bell and quickly found his opening. Fernandes attempted a spinning backfist that missed its target, leaving him vulnerable to a counter strike.
Turner connected with a clean left hand that sent Fernandes crashing to the canvas. The Brazilian fighter went down hard and Turner immediately moved into top position.
Brutal Ground-and-Pound Finish
Once on top, Turner unleashed a series of heavy punches from the mounted position. Fernandes could only cover up as lefts and rights rained down on him.
The referee stepped in quickly to stop the fight and protect Fernandes from further damage. Turner had landed enough clean shots to warrant the stoppage.

The victory marks Turner’s second knockout win in a row. He previously defeated Edson Barboza in December, who retired earlier in the same UFC 330 event.
Turner’s professional record now stands at 16-9 overall and 9-6 inside the UFC. The win snapped a three-fight winning streak for Fernandes, who drops to 11-3 in his career and 3-2 in the UFC.
Fernandes had entered the fight with momentum after consecutive wins over Mohammad Yahya, Guram Kutateladze, and Harry Harwick. This marks his second loss inside the UFC octagon.
Turner Eyes Ranked Competition
During his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, Turner made his intentions clear about his next move. He said he would “like to see a number next to my name again.”
Turner had been ranked in the lightweight division before and wants to return to that position. He stated he was willing to fight anyone in the top 15, top 10, or even top five of the division.
The lightweight division remains one of the most competitive in the UFC. Turner’s back-to-back knockout victories could position him for a step up in competition.
The fight had been moved to the main card after a late shuffle of the UFC 330 lineup. Both fighters were originally scheduled for earlier in the night but got bumped up to featured status.
Turner earned his nickname “The Tarantula” for his aggressive fighting style and finishing ability. The 39-second knockout was one of the fastest finishes on the entire UFC 330 card.
Fernandes had shown durability in previous fights but was unable to recover from the initial knockdown. Turner’s ground strikes were too heavy and came too quickly for the Brazilian to defend.
Turner now holds nine victories inside the UFC and has finished opponents in multiple ways throughout his career. With two straight wins, he appears ready for higher-level competition in the lightweight division.
