Former world’s strongest man Eddie Hall has confirmed the official rules for his upcoming boxing match against Tommy Fury, revealing a massive weight advantage and shortened rounds. The crossover bout is scheduled for June 13 at Manchester’s AO Arena as part of a Misfits Boxing event.
Hall told talkSPORT that the fight will feature six rounds of two minutes each, with both fighters wearing 12-ounce gloves. The most striking detail is that there will be no weight limit imposed on either competitor.
Massive Weight Difference Expected
The strongman expects to weigh around 150 kilograms (330 pounds) on fight night, creating an estimated 130-pound weight difference between himself and Fury. Hall said he will weigh in at whatever weight he is as long as he’s fit and in shape.
“With my diet, I’ve been a carnivore for a while now, so will be sticking to meat, eggs and dairy,” Hall explained in his interview. He has no plans to cut weight for the bout.
The weight disparity was on full display during the fighters’ first face-off, where the physical differences between the two men became immediately apparent. Footage from the tense encounter showed Hall attempting to intimidate Fury during the promotional event.

Hall admitted he was grateful for the two-minute rounds rather than the standard three-minute boxing rounds. He revealed that he struggled with cardio during earlier boxing experiences with longer rounds.
“It’s been very hard, it’s been going from zero to 100,” Hall said about his training camp. “One minute there was no fight, next minute was on so it’s been a quick turnaround.”
Fan Reaction and Fight Preparation
Boxing fans have expressed concerns that the shortened rounds may favor Fury’s boxing experience. Many believe the two-minute format will allow the boxer to easily outpoint Hall over the six rounds.
One fan wrote on social media: “So we’re looking at a boring Tommy unanimous decision win.” Another predicted: “Tommy’s game plan will obviously be to run away and jab for two minutes.”
Hall has increased his training schedule from one session per week to four sessions per week. He sparred with heavyweight boxer Johnny Fisher last week as part of his preparation.
“I’m trying to get sparring in that is tougher than Tommy Fury,” Hall stated. The strongman has only boxed once professionally, losing to Thor Bjornsson in 2022.
Hall’s last combat sports appearance was in April 2025, when he knocked out Mariusz Pudzianowski in a super-heavyweight MMA fight. Fury is returning to Misfits Boxing after more than two years away from the promotion.
The bout has been marketed as “Beauty vs. The Beast” and will take place at the AO Arena in Manchester. The event will be streamed worldwide through Misfits Boxing’s platforms.
