Santiago Luna opened the main card at UFC Fight Night in Mexico City with a unanimous decision victory over Angel Pacheco on Saturday night. The 21-year-old bantamweight extended his perfect professional record to 8-0 with the three-round win at Arena CDMX.

Luna showcased his complete skill set over the course of 15 minutes against Pacheco. The young prospect controlled the pace of the fight from the opening bell.

Luna Uses Wrestling to Control the Fight

The Mexican fighter employed effective takedowns throughout the bout to ground his opponent. Luna spent much of the fight in dominant positions, using ground control to rack up points on the judges’ scorecards.

Pacheco struggled to find answers for Luna’s wrestling attack. The takedowns prevented Pacheco from establishing any sustained offense during the bantamweight contest.

Luna’s ground game proved too much for his opponent to handle. He mixed in strikes from top position while maintaining control for extended periods.

All three judges scored the fight in favor of Luna. The decision was never in doubt as Luna won clearly on all three scorecards.

One of UFC’s Youngest Fighters Continues to Impress

At just 21 years old, Luna ranks among the youngest fighters currently on the UFC roster. His age makes his undefeated record even more impressive as he competes against seasoned professionals.

The victory came on a card that featured former flyweight champion Brandon Moreno in the main event. Luna’s performance set a strong tone for the evening’s fights in front of the Mexico City crowd.

Luna has yet to taste defeat in his mixed martial arts career. His eight professional wins have all come since he began his MMA journey as a teenager.

The bantamweight division prospect continues to develop his skills with each appearance. Luna’s combination of youth and ability makes him a fighter to watch in the 135-pound weight class.

The win keeps Luna’s momentum going as he climbs the UFC ranks. His perfect record positions him well for bigger opportunities within the bantamweight division.

Saturday’s event marked the UFC’s third consecutive year holding fights at Arena CDMX. The previous two events at the venue were also headlined by Moreno.

Luna now looks ahead to his next challenge inside the octagon. At 8-0, the young bantamweight has established himself as a rising talent in the organization.
