GLORY has announced a partnership with the Litecoin Foundation.

As a result of the partnership, Litecoin has become the official cryptocurrency of GLORY and will be accepted as a valid form of payment in the online GLORY store.

With this development, GLORY becomes the first professional sports league to incorporate Litecoin as a form of payment.

Per the release, fans who use Litecoin will receive “access [to] exclusive offers, including athlete meet-and-greets, backstage arena tours, limited-edition merchandise and premium in-arena seating.”

GLORY CEO Marshall Zeleznik, one of the architects of UFC Fight Pass, said of the partnership, “A partnership with Litecoin, which offers one of the fastest transaction confirmation speeds of any cryptocurrency, makes perfect sense for GLORY and our fans as we put on the fastest fight action in the combat sports world.

“With both companies also being young, dynamic and achieving consistent year-on-year growth, GLORY could not have found a more fitting cryptocurrency partner.”

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the world’s leading martial arts organization, also partnered with Litecoin during the UFC 232 broadcast back in December of 2018.

GLORY and the UFC have a prior relationship, as the kickboxing league streams on the UFC’s streaming service, UFC Fight Pass, and airs on ESPN, like the UFC now does.

Litecoin, which was founded in 2011, is a form of cryptocurrency. A cryptocurrency is a form of currency that exists online. Some of the primary features of a cryptocurrency include the decentralized nature of the format, as no such cryptocurrency is regulated by banks, governments, or other such institutions.

“LOS ANGELES – GLORY today announced that it has entered into a partnership with the Litecoin Foundation that will result in Litecoin becoming the official cryptocurrency of the world’s premier stand-up combat league.

As part of the partnership, Litecoin is now accepted as a payment method on GLORYshop.com, GLORY’s online merchandise platform. As a result, GLORY becomes the first professional sports league to integrate Litecoin into the end-to-end fan experience.

GLORY fans in the US and Europe will soon be able to access exclusive offers, including athlete meet-and-greets, backstage arena tours, limited-edition merchandise and premium in-arena seating, only available for purchase at GLORYshop.com with Litecoin.

Additionally, Litecoin will receive global exposure across GLORY events, broadcast and social media.

‘GLORY has a growing worldwide fan base that consists in large part of a younger demographic who are early adopters of technology and conduct much of their lives online – from consuming content to purchasing products,’ said Charlie Lee, Creator of Litecoin and Managing Director of the Litecoin Foundation.

‘As GLORY continues to grow, tapping into their global audience and educating them about Litecoin through real world use cases can be powerful.’

GLORY CEO Marshall Zelaznik sees a lot of similarities between the two new partners.

‘A partnership with Litecoin, which offers one of the fastest transaction confirmation speeds of any cryptocurrency, makes perfect sense for GLORY and our fans as we put on the fastest fight action in the combat sports world’ he said.

‘With both companies also being young, dynamic and achieving consistent year-on-year growth, GLORY could not have found a more fitting cryptocurrency partner.'”
