Islam Makhachev

More money appears to be coming in on Islam Makhachev just days away from his UFC Lightweight Championship clash with Alexander Volkanovski.

Makhachev will defend his lightweight title against Volkanovski, the featherweight champion, in the main event of this weekend’s UFC 284 event in Perth, Australia. It’s a highly-anticipated megafight between the top two pound-for-pound fighters in the UFC today.

Fans in the United States can watch Makhachev vs. Volkanovski and the entire UFC 284 fight card live from their own home by ordering the UFC 284 PPV on ESPN+. The action will commence at the usual time on Saturday night with the PPV main card beginning at 10 pm ET.

Despite this main event being a clash between the top two ranked fighters in the promotion, it’s been completely one-sided in terms of betting action. Makhachev’s size and wrestling ability seem to be the key factor here as the lightweight champ is set to enter the octagon as a -380 favorite. The gap has widened before the UFC 284 main event with Makhachev available as a -315 option late last year.

Volkanovski, on the other hand, already represented decent value at his +260 odds last year but has since moved out to a +310 underdog on fight week.
