“This is my best camp,” Evloev said in a recent interview. “I feel I’m in the best shape of my life.”
The challenger explained that he believes the timing of his title opportunity could not be better. He said his physical abilities have actually improved this year despite being in his early thirties.
“The title fight has come at the best time. Because now is my prime,” Evloev said. “I’m 32 and don’t feel like I’m tired.”
Evloev Reports Increased Power and Conditioning
The Russian fighter described feeling stronger in 2026 than in previous years. He said his power levels have increased even though he already had good strength and conditioning throughout his career.
“This year especially, I feel I got more power than before,” Evloev explained. “I always had good strength and conditioning, but now I feel even better.”
Evloev enters the fight with a perfect professional record of 20 wins and zero losses. All 10 of his UFC victories have come by decision, showing his ability to control fights over three rounds.
The challenger has long pursued a title opportunity in the featherweight division. Volkanovski himself has previously supported Evloev’s case for a title shot.
Respect for Volkanovski Despite Confidence
Despite his confidence heading into the fight, Evloev stressed his respect for the champion. He said that respect will continue even if he wins the belt.
“We’re confident to fight with a guy like Alex. We respect him,” Evloev said. “We’ll respect him even after we beat him.”
The challenger made clear he views this as his moment to capture UFC gold. He combined his respectful words about Volkanovski with a statement of intent.
“Nothing but respect, but this is my time,” Evloev said.
Volkanovski has been one of the UFC’s most dominant champions in recent years. The Australian fighter has defended his featherweight title multiple times against top contenders.
Evloev will look to become the first fighter to hand the champion a loss in the featherweight division. His undefeated record and current physical condition give him confidence entering the biggest fight of his career.
The fight takes place on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, a location that has hosted numerous major UFC events. UFC 333 will mark Evloev’s first opportunity to compete for a championship in the promotion after 10 consecutive victories.
The challenger believes his combination of experience, physical prime, and excellent training camp preparation will be enough to capture the featherweight title on October 24.
