Jake Paul and Ronda Rousey Had Celebrated Early
Jake Paul and Ronda Rousey both took victory laps on social media after the UFC White House event on June 14. Paul had mocked the UFC’s initial numbers and declared himself the world’s biggest MMA promoter.
Rousey also criticized the UFC White House viewership figures and trolled UFC executive Hunter Campbell. Both promoted the Netflix MVP MMA event that drew record numbers for the streaming platform in May.
The UFC’s Freedom 250 event reached 17 million total viewers in the United States and Latin America alone. The broadcast averaged 8.2 million viewers across those regions.
Social Media Engagement Breaks Records
The event generated massive engagement across social media platforms beyond traditional viewing numbers. UFC accumulated 126 billion total views on social media during the event.
The promotion also gained 5 billion engagements and 536,000 new followers across its social media accounts. UFC occupied eight of the top 10 trending positions throughout fight night on June 14.
Justin Gaethje delivered an upset victory over Ilia Topuria in the main event lightweight title fight. Topuria had previously held titles in two different weight divisions before the loss.
