The UFC announced today that its Freedom 250 event at the White House pulled 34 million global viewers on Paramount+. The numbers more than doubled the viewership from Netflix’s MVP MMA event featuring Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano in May.

The final viewership count may increase further as several countries have not yet reported their numbers. France and Spain, home countries of fighters Ciryl Gane and Ilia Topuria, have not submitted their final tallies.

Jake Paul and Ronda Rousey Had Celebrated Early

Jake Paul and Ronda Rousey both took victory laps on social media after the UFC White House event on June 14. Paul had mocked the UFC’s initial numbers and declared himself the world’s biggest MMA promoter.

Rousey also criticized the UFC White House viewership figures and trolled UFC executive Hunter Campbell. Both promoted the Netflix MVP MMA event that drew record numbers for the streaming platform in May.

The UFC’s Freedom 250 event reached 17 million total viewers in the United States and Latin America alone. The broadcast averaged 8.2 million viewers across those regions.

    Social Media Engagement Breaks Records

The event generated massive engagement across social media platforms beyond traditional viewing numbers. UFC accumulated 126 billion total views on social media during the event.

The promotion also gained 5 billion engagements and 536,000 new followers across its social media accounts. UFC occupied eight of the top 10 trending positions throughout fight night on June 14.

Justin Gaethje delivered an upset victory over Ilia Topuria in the main event lightweight title fight. Topuria had previously held titles in two different weight divisions before the loss.

The event took place in Washington, DC, at the White House. The card was called Freedom 250 and featured multiple international fighters.

Conor McGregor is scheduled to return to the octagon next month at UFC 329 in Las Vegas. McGregor remains the sport’s biggest draw and could generate another ratings success for the promotion.

The UFC 329 event is planned for July, though the organization noted potential last-minute changes could affect the card. McGregor has been away from competition for an extended period.

The UFC has not released detailed breakdowns of viewership by country or region beyond the U.S. and Latin America figures. International markets contributed roughly half of the total 34 million global viewers.

Paramount+ served as the exclusive streaming platform for the Freedom 250 event. The UFC has a partnership deal with Paramount+ for select major events.

A Freedom 250 album is scheduled to drop on July 3, according to reports. Diego Lopes has expressed interest in fighting Yair Rodriguez and potentially moving to the 155-pound division.

Topuria has resurfaced on social media following his loss at the White House event. The former champion had been absent from public view immediately after the defeat to Gaethje.
