Former UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington criticized both Ian Garry and Bo Nickal in a recent interview with Submission Radio. The comments came after both fighters suffered setbacks in their respective competitions.

Covington addressed Garry’s loss to Islam Makhachev at UFC 330, where the Irishman fell short in his first career title shot. The fight ended in a unanimous decision victory for Makhachev, with UFC CEO Dana White and others criticizing Garry’s performance afterward.

    Covington’s Personal Attacks on Garry

Covington made explicit comments about Garry’s personal life during the interview. “I didn’t really pay attention, but the one thing I found fitting that I did see is that now his wife got to sit in the corner and watch him get dogged out for once,” Covington said.

He continued his attack by referencing online discourse about Garry’s relationship. “The roles got reversed for once; the world got to see that he was exposed,” Covington added, making references to rumors about Garry’s wife and a nutritionist.

    ☠️Colby Covington RIPS Ian Garry:

“The one thing fitting that I did see is, now, you know, the wife got to sit in the corner and watch him get dogged out for once. So…at least the roles got reversed for once, you know? The world got to see that he was exposed as a cuck”

Covington also declined interest in a potential grappling matchup with Garry. The two welterweight fighters have traded barbs in the past and were linked to fight rumors at UFC 303, but a bout never materialized.

Garry suffered his second career defeat at UFC 330. White specifically cited Garry’s perceived lack of a killer instinct as a major factor in how the later rounds of the championship fight played out.

    Bo Nickal’s Wrestling Loss

Covington also addressed Bo Nickal’s recent decision defeat to Max McEnelly at Real American Freestyle 12. He argued that the UFC middleweight’s aura has faded following the wrestling match.

Covington said Nickal’s “mystique” is now gone after the loss. He also stepped back from a proposed wrestling bout with Nickal, suggesting the defeat changed his interest in such a matchup.

The remarks were part of a broader conversation about potential cross-discipline contests. Covington discussed current form and recent performances of fighters across different combat sports.

Covington announced his retirement from mixed martial arts earlier this year. He spent multiple years away from the Octagon before making the retirement official.

Despite the retirement, Covington continues to comment on active fighters and their performances. His history with Garry includes repeated verbal exchanges and speculation about a potential grudge match that never happened.

White’s criticism of Garry after UFC 330 focused on the fighter’s approach in the championship rounds. The UFC CEO felt Garry didn’t show enough aggression to take the belt from Makhachev.

Garry has publicly maintained a positive attitude despite the loss. He has not yet responded to Covington’s latest comments about his performance or personal life.
