Jairzinho Rozenstruik competes at Rizin 10

Jairzinho Rozenstruik is the latest addition to the UFC’s heavyweight roster.

Rozenstruik will step right into a fight with Junior Albini scheduled for UFC Fight Night 144 in Fortaleza, Brazil, per DWT Sport. Dmitriy Sosnovskiy was initially slated to face Albini on this card but has withdrawn from the contest due to an injury.

The event is scheduled to take place on Feb. 2 and is headlined by a fantastic high-stakes bantamweight rematch between Raphael Assuncao and Marlon Moraes.

Rozenstruik is undefeated after six fights with several promotions. Most recently, the 30-year-old picked up his fifth career KO/TKO finish when he stopped Robert McCarthy at Suriname Regional on Dec. 27. Earlier in the year, he earned an impressive split decision win against Andrey Kovalev at Rizin 10. It wasn’t all smooth sailing in Japan for the Surinamese fighter, however, as he was caught greasing. Rizin docked 10% of Rozenstruik’s pay after he was handed a yellow card.

Albini will be looking to get things back on track inside the UFC’s Octagon. After stopping Timothy Johnson with punches in the first round at UFC on FOX 25, Albini has since lost to ranked competitors Andrei Arlovski and Alexey Oleinik. The 27-year-old is currently closing out his training camp at American Top Team in Florida.
