Betting odds released for Jack Hermansson vs. Jared Cannonier at UFC Copenhagen

Jack Hermansson celebrates after scoring a UFC victory

The UFC’s debut event in Copenhagen takes place September 18 at Royal Arena and will be headlined by a middleweight matchup between Jack Hermansson and Jared Cannonier.

Hermansson is coming off the biggest win of his career when he outpointed Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza on short notice at UFC Fort Lauderdale back in April. It followed a three-fight winning streak, all of which included finishes.

“The Joker” was initially targeting a fight with former title challenger Kelvin Gastelum next to put him in a position to challenge for the title. However, he’ll have to make do with facing the rising Cannonier, who is currently ranked five places below him in the UFC rankings at ninth.

Still, it’s not an easy matchup, especially with Cannonier’s results at middleweight so far. “The Killa Gorilla” holds TKO finishes over David Branch and Anderson Silva, and looks a completely different fighter, especially after being undersized when he competed at light heavyweight and even heavyweight.

The UFC Copenhagen main event promises to be a barnburner and the opening odds are as follows:

  • Jack Hermansson: -210
  • Jared Cannonier: +160

That means you would need to bet $210 on Hermansson to win $100. Meanwhile, betting $100 on Cannonier will give you $160 in return.

Here are the opening odds for the pair’s last five fights:

Jack Hermansson last five fights

  • vs. Ronaldo Souza (W): +135
  • vs. David Branch (W): -120
  • vs. Gerald Meerschaert (W): -185
  • vs. Thalas Leites (W): -210
  • vs. Thiago Santos (L): +110

Jared Cannonier last five fights

  • vs. Anderson Silva (W): -240
  • vs. David Branch (W): +220
  • vs. Dominick Reyes (L): +160
  • vs. Jan Blachowicz (L): -215
  • vs. Nick Roehrick (W): -380

  • Gunnar Nelson: -305
  • Thiago Alves: +225
