Leather is set to fly in Poland.
KSW 49 takes place May 18 at the Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland, and is co-headlined by a rematch between Scott Askham and Michal Materla for the vacant KSW middleweight belt. Last time out Askham delivered a brutal first-round TKO of the polish legend, and Materla has been seeking revenge ever since. Askham is hoping that a repeat win on Saturday may lure Mamed Khalidov out of retirement for a bout he’s had his eye on for quite some time.
Order UFC 284
Alexander Volkanovski and Islam Makhachev, the top two pound-for-pound fighters in the UFC, will clash at UFC 284 on Feb. 11. Order the PPV now to watch the champion vs. champion fight live on Saturday.
In the main event, Roberto Soldic will defend his welterweight strap against Krystian Kaszubowski. The two-time KSW 170 lb. champ faces a stiff test in Kaszubowski, who hopes to remain undefeated despite coming into the bout as a heavy underdog. With both performers earning Knockout of the Night awards at KSW 46, there’s a safe chance the bout won’t go to a decision.
The event has plenty of depth to add outside of the main and co-main as well. Norman Parke will return from his self-imposed retirement to take on Artur Sowinski in a 163 lb. scrap, Karl Bedorf faces Damian Grabowski in a heavyweight tilt that, and UFC veteran Thiago Silva meets Martin Zawada in a 209 lb. catchweight bout.
