Another weekend, another absolutely fantastic K-1 kickboxing event. This time it was the K-1 World GP in Yokohama.
The night featured a -57.5kg Championship Grand-Prix in which the night’s eventual winner would have to beat three foes in one night to be crowned champion. KRUSH featherweight champion Yuki Egawa (13-2-1) knocked out three opponents inside the first round, all via nasty livershot, to eventually win the tournament in the night’s main event.
In the co-main event, top-ranked multi-division K-1 champion Takeru (37-1) extended his winning streak to 33 with a late flurry against former title-holder Yuta Murakoshi (28-7) to secure a narrow majority decision victory. Elsewhere on the card, KRUSH title-holders Minoru Kimura, Jordann Pikeur, and Kenta Hayashi competed. Top ten -60kg kickboxer Kouzi and went to war with a Pancrase veteran, as well.
