Former UFC interim champion Tony Ferguson successfully defended his Misfits Boxing middleweight title Saturday night with a second-round TKO victory over Mahmoud Sebie. The fight ended 42 seconds into the second round at the James L. Knight Center in Miami.
Sebie took the fight on just four days’ notice after original opponent Kenzo Biyong withdrew due to travel complications. The late replacement showed little interest in continuing the bout from early in the opening round.
Ferguson, 42, improved his Misfits Boxing record to 3-0 with the win. This marked his first title defense since winning the middleweight championship.

Strange First Round Ends Early
The fight took an unusual turn in the first round when Sebie appeared to hurt Ferguson with a wild left hook. The referee ruled it a slip rather than a knockdown, though replays suggested Ferguson may have been legitimately dropped.
Moments later, Sebie simply stopped defending himself with just over 10 seconds remaining in the round. Ferguson landed multiple unanswered shots before Sebie went down to the canvas in what observers described as a “nosedive.”
