Former UFC champion Henry Cejudo will face a different opponent when he makes his professional boxing debut on September 26, 2026, in Miami. Javon “Wanna” Walton will replace the originally scheduled Nurideen Shabazz, known as Deen The Great, who withdrew due to injury.
Misfits Boxing announced the opponent change on September 15, less than two weeks before the scheduled fight at the James L. Knight Center. The bout will be broadcast on DAZN.
Who Is Javon Walton
Walton is a 20-year-old professional boxer with a record of 3-0-1, including one knockout. Most Valuable Promotions lists him as an unbeaten lightweight standing 173 centimeters tall.
The young fighter is best known to television audiences for his role as Ashtray in HBO’s “Euphoria” series. He has also appeared in “The Umbrella Academy.”

Walton stopped Moises Guzman Almonte in the first round of his professional debut. He later drew with Joshua Torres and continued his unbeaten streak.
His most recent fight came in September 2025 in Montreal, where he defeated Anthony Mora by unanimous decision. According to Most Valuable Promotions, Walton accepted the fight on short notice after the organizers offered a financial guarantee.
In his statement about the fight, Walton said he knows Cejudo is an Olympic champion and former UFC champion. He emphasized that “this is boxing and this is my world.”
Cejudo’s Combat Sports Background
Cejudo won an Olympic gold medal in freestyle wrestling at the 2008 Beijing Games in the 55-kilogram category. He was 21 years old at the time.
The UFC signed him in 2014, and he went on to win both the flyweight and bantamweight championships. He captured the flyweight title in 2018 by defeating Demetrious Johnson.
One year later, he beat Marlon Moraes to become bantamweight champion. This made him one of the few UFC fighters to win titles in two weight classes.
Cejudo first retired from MMA in 2020 after defending the bantamweight title against Dominick Cruz. He returned to the Octagon in 2023 but lost four straight fights.
His losses came against Aljamain Sterling, Merab Dvalishvili, Song Yadong, and Payton Talbott. After losing to Talbott at UFC 323 in December 2025, he ended his MMA career with a record of 16-6.
Cejudo did not stop competing after leaving the UFC. During 2026, he returned to wrestling through Real American Freestyle.
Official results show he defeated Urijah Faber in that organization. In August in Cleveland, he pinned Dvalishvili after just 36 seconds.
