Gervonta Davis vs. Ryan Garcia fight likely for April 15

Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia have signed contracts for a catchweight fight at 136 pounds, scheduled for April 15 in Las Vegas. The two fighters have been engaged in a war of words on social media, and fans have been eagerly awaiting a chance to see them settle their differences inside the ring.

According to sources cited by ESPN’s Mike Coppinger, both fighters have now formalized the fight by signing contracts. The next step is for the signed contract to be sent to DAZN, which has a network deal with Garcia, for their approval.

This fight has not been without its share of obstacles, including disagreements over rematch rights and Davis pleading guilty to a hit-and-run incident. However, both fighters are now committed to the bout, and fans can look forward to an eventful press run leading up to the fight.

The bout between Davis and Garcia is expected to be a catchweight fight, with both fighters potentially returning to the lightweight division after the match. Fellow fighters have weighed in on the Davis vs. Garcia matchup, with Vasiliy Lomachenko, a former unified champion in the division, stating that he thinks Davis will come out on top.

“Great fight. Very great fight for fans. It’s going to be very, very interesting because we saw Ryan Garcia’s problem versus [Luke] Campbell. And we saw a problem in Davis with Romero,” Lomachenko told FightHype (via Boxing Social).

“I think Davis will win, but nobody knows … I think Davis finish him.”

“Canelo” Alvarez also gave his thoughts on the fight, believing that Davis will be the favorite to win.

“I think Davis has more experience,” he told TMZ Sports (via Marca). “But it’s going to be a good fight. Garcia is a good fighter. He’s got a lot of talent. But I think he needs more fights before the Gervonta fight.”

Davis, who has a perfect 28-0 record, has criticized Garcia in the past for using mental health as an excuse to avoid fighting him. Garcia has been open about his struggles with depression, but has now returned to the ring and is eager to prove himself against one of boxing’s most exciting young talents.

The Davis-Garcia fight promises to be a can’t-miss event for boxing fans, and both fighters will be looking to make a statement with a victory. With the fight now officially on the books, fans can begin counting down the days until April 15 to see who comes out on top.
