Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao will meet in the ring for a professional rematch on September 19, 2026, at the Sphere in Las Vegas. The fight will stream live globally on Netflix, included in all subscriber plans.
Mayweather, now 48 years old, is coming out of retirement to face Pacquiao 11 years after their first meeting. Pacquiao, 47, has continued fighting professionally and most recently fought to a majority draw against Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight championship in July 2025.
The announcement marks Netflix’s continued expansion into live combat sports. Gabe Spitzer, Vice President of Sports at Netflix, spent time in both fighters’ training camps earlier in his career and called the rematch a massive full circle moment for the streaming platform.

The First Fight Broke Records
Mayweather defeated Pacquiao by unanimous decision on May 2, 2015, in what was called the Fight of the Century. The bout became the highest-grossing fight in boxing history, generating $53.1 million in gate revenue and 4.6 million pay-per-view sales.
Mayweather extended his perfect professional record to 48-0 with the victory. He went on to defeat Andre Berto in September 2015 and Conor McGregor in August 2017 before retiring with a 50-0 record.
Since retiring from professional boxing, Mayweather has participated in several exhibition matches. His most recent was against John Gotti III in August 2024, and he also faced Logan Paul and Aaron Chalmers in exhibition bouts.
Pacquiao has fought eight times professionally since losing to Mayweather. His current record stands at 62-8-3 with 39 knockouts, making him one of the most accomplished fighters in boxing history as the only eight-division world champion.
What the Fighters Are Saying
Mayweather expressed confidence about the rematch in his statement. “I already fought and beat Manny once. This time will be the same result,” he said.
Pacquiao took a different tone in his comments about the fight. “Floyd and I gave the world what remains the biggest fight in boxing history,” Pacquiao said. “The fans have waited long enough – they deserve this rematch, and it will be even bigger now that it will be streamed live globally on Netflix.”
Pacquiao added that he wants Mayweather to live with one loss on his professional record. He dedicated the fight to Filipinos around the world and to bringing glory to the Philippines.
This represents Mayweather’s fourth return from retirement. He previously called time on his career in 2007, 2015, and 2017 before announcing each comeback.
The bout is being organized and produced by EverWonder Studio, Hidden Empire, and Limitless X Holdings. Manny Pacquiao Promotions and Mayweather Promotions are promoting the fight alongside CSI Sports/Fight Sports.
The Sphere will host its first boxing match ever with this event. Details about ticket availability will be announced in the coming weeks.
Pacquiao, a former senator of the Philippines, is also known outside boxing as a singer and songwriter. At age 40, he became the oldest welterweight world champion and is the only boxer to hold world championships across four different decades.
Netflix has recently broadcast several major combat sports events, including Jake Paul versus Mike Tyson, which drew 108 million live global viewers. The platform will also host Ronda Rousey versus Gina Carano on May 16 and Tyson Fury versus Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11.
