Former UFC welterweight title challenger Darren Till has launched an angry attack on Jake Paul and his promotional team after a planned fight between the two fighters fell through. Most Valuable Promotions announced on Monday that Paul would instead face former kickboxing champion Cedric Doumbe in Dubai on December 24.
Till claims he was in advanced negotiations with Paul’s team before the Doumbe fight was announced. The 33-year-old British fighter said he believed the bout was close to being finalized.
“His team reached out to my team and was like, look, we want to make the Till fight. How do we get this done?” Till told The Ariel Helwani Show. He said negotiations had progressed far enough that financial terms were largely agreed upon.
Darren Till just EXPLODED after revealing he was asked to apologize to Tommy Fury and his dad to make the fight happen ðŸ˜
“I would not do that for no amount of money on earth. I’m sorry you’re a fat f*cking mess and your son’s a sh*thouse. There’s your apology, you fat c*nt. How… pic.twitter.com/wiNMUFAO4a

Till Says He Started Training Camp
Till revealed he had already begun preparing for the contest with Paul. He flew his coach to Dubai and started a training camp two weeks ago.
“For me, I thought we were all good to go. I’ve been in camp now for the past two weeks with my coach. I flew him out,” Till explained. He said he was training for a fight that would have taken place about seven weeks away.
The British fighter said he never actively pursued the Paul fight himself. “Me, unlike the rest, I’ve never really begged for the Jake Paul fight. I’m not into the shenanigans of begging for fights,” he stated.
Instead, Till maintains that Paul’s team initiated contact and drove the negotiations forward. He expressed frustration that the fight fell apart after he had invested time and money into preparation.
Till Questions Paul’s Choice of Opponent
Till criticized Paul’s decision to face Doumbe instead. While Doumbe has found success in kickboxing and mixed martial arts, he has only one professional boxing match on his record.
“I don’t think anyone outside of his own household even knows who he is,” Till said about Doumbe. He suggested Paul chose an easier opponent, saying “Jake probably just wants to see how his jaw’s holding up against someone who weighs about 150 pounds on a good day.”
Till directed his harshest words at Paul and Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian. He accused them of wasting his time and acting dishonestly throughout the process.
“It’s just a fraudulent show. Everyone’s a fraud. Jake’s a fraud. Nakisa Bidarian’s a little fraud. Wasting my time,” Till said. He called the situation “disrespectful” and referred to Paul’s team as a “gang of frauds, gang of bums, gang of stinky little wet asses.”
Paul, 29, will now face Doumbe on December 24 in Dubai. The fight marks Paul’s return to boxing after his most recent bout.
Till competed in the UFC as a welterweight and challenged for the division’s title during his career. He has not responded publicly to Till’s accusations about the collapsed fight negotiations.
