UFC President Dana White publicly agreed that King Green deserves a shot at the BMF title during Thursday’s UFC 332 press conference in Utah. When asked if the 40-year-old lightweight would be perfect for the BMF belt, White responded without hesitation.
“I do not disagree with you, I absolutely agree,” White said when asked about Green’s potential BMF title fight.

Green’s Recent Win Streak and Fighting Style
Green enters UFC 332 on a four-fight winning streak, with his last three victories coming by finish. He knocked out Daniel Zellhuber, submitted Jeremy Stephens, and most recently stopped Terrance McKinney with strikes.
The California native will face Esteban Ribovics at UFC 332 on Saturday night in Salt Lake City. Green has been active at an unusual rate for a 40-year-old fighter, competing five times in the past year.
“Five in a year. I’m gonna do six this year at 40,” Green said at Wednesday’s media day. “I’m one of the hardest mfs that ever did this in a cage.”
Green expressed his desire for the BMF title during media day but doubted he would ever get the opportunity. “It would be the ultimate honor, it would be a dream come true,” Green said. “It will never happen though, I can’t even get a 15 guy let alone a BMF shot.”
Understanding the UFC’s Match-Making Strategy
Green has been frustrated with his recent opponent assignments, facing fighters ranked below him despite requesting top-15 competition. He believes the UFC has a business reason for matching him against younger fighters.
“It’s out with the old, in with the new. Our paychecks go up so we got to get the new guys,” Green explained. “After I finish this one, I’m on my last one, and so now they got to pay me more? They’re like hopefully this young kid knocks him out.”
The veteran fighter said he understands the promotion’s strategy but has no plans to go anywhere. “I get the business and I understand it, but I’m not moving. I’m not going nowhere. You going to keep giving me this money,” he said.
Green acknowledged his main focus remains providing for his family rather than championship glory. “At the end of the day, what is the intent? What’s the focus? The focus is changing my family’s lives,” he said. “Yeah I want to get toward the BMF belt, but at the end of the day, give me my money.”
The BMF title is currently held by Charles Oliveira, who defeated Max Holloway by unanimous decision at UFC 326 in March. Oliveira used a grappling-heavy approach to win the belt, which upset many fans who felt the BMF title should showcase standup fighting.
Green promised fans an exciting fight against Ribovics on Saturday. “Fans can expect what they always expect from me. A real fight,” Green said. “And I can guarantee you he’s going to sleep or I’m going to sleep. One of the two. But you get a fight.”
Ribovics enters the bout with momentum after knocking out Edson Barboza at UFC 330 in August. Green’s previous win came against McKinney, earning him a performance bonus.
