Jean Silva overcame a difficult start to submit Jose Miguel Delgado with a rear-naked choke in the third round at Noche UFC 4 in Glendale, Arizona. The finish came after Silva had been staggered and outboxed for much of the fight.

Delgado entered the bout riding a two-fight winning streak and immediately took control. He caught Silva with a first-round flurry that left the Brazilian fighter visibly shaken.

The Mexican fighter continued finding success throughout the second round, landing clean punches while Silva struggled to find his rhythm. Delgado appeared to be on his way to an upset victory heading into the final frame.

    Silva Turns the Fight Around

Silva increased his pressure dramatically in the third round. Delgado tried to maintain distance by moving around the cage, but the intensity from Silva made him increasingly uncomfortable.

Jean Silva reveals he has NO memory of his last fight at Noche UFC against Diego Lopes

"That night literally took something away from me. it took away all the memories I could have had from my first main event.

Silva eventually trapped Delgado against the fence and unleashed a series of punches. Delgado’s face became wedged between Silva’s fist and the cage wall before he dropped to the canvas.

Delgado initially used his wrestling skills to avoid being finished on the ground. However, Silva secured back control and locked in a rear-naked choke that forced Delgado to tap out.

    Silva Eyes Championship Opportunity

The victory improved Silva’s UFC record to seven wins in eight fights. His only loss during that stretch came against Diego Lopes in 2025.

Silva wasted no time calling for a title opportunity immediately after the fight. He specifically requested a match against the winner of next month’s featherweight championship bout.

Alexander Volkanovski and Movsar Evloev are scheduled to fight for the featherweight title in the coming weeks. Silva made clear he believes his performance and record justify a shot at the division’s top prize.

The win demonstrated Silva’s resilience and finishing ability even when losing on the scorecards. Despite being outboxed for two rounds, he found a way to secure a dramatic finish.

Silva’s seven victories in eight UFC appearances have now positioned him as a potential contender in the featherweight division. The Brazilian fighter continues to build momentum with his latest submission victory over Delgado in front of the Arizona crowd.
