UFC heavyweight Josh Hokit has responded to criticism by insulting former champion Daniel Cormier on social media. The fighter called Cormier a “fat cow pig” after the UFC commentator condemned his recent controversial comments.
Hokit made headlines following his victory over Derrick Lewis at UFC Freedom 250 at the White House on June 14. During his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, he made a controversial statement about former First Lady Michelle Obama.
“Michelle Obama is a man. Am I right America?” Hokit said during the broadcast.
The comment drew immediate criticism from media outlets and fans. Cormier addressed the situation in a YouTube video on his channel.
“The comments that he made in the octagon were irresponsible; it was nasty, it was horrible, and it was unnecessary,” Cormier said in the video.

Hokit Doubles Down on Social Media
Rather than apologize, Hokit took to X (formerly Twitter) to attack Cormier directly. He showed no regret for his original statement.
“I’ve been nothing but nice to this fat cow pig,” Hokit wrote on June 20. “I’m not here for unity, in reality there will never be unity… I come to divide people’s faces… if you don’t like it then come do something about it.”
Hokit has recently gained attention in the MMA world through his social media skits and trash talk. His latest actions have pushed his controversial persona to new levels.
The UFC has historically taken little disciplinary action against fighters for their public comments. This situation appears to be following the same pattern.
Dana White Responds to Controversy
UFC CEO Dana White addressed the situation after UFC Fight Night 279 on Saturday. He called Hokit’s comments “disgusting” but did not announce any disciplinary measures.
“That was disgusting,” White said. “There’s always going to be people that say things that most of us don’t agree with.”

White shared a personal story about meeting President Obama at an inauguration. He described Obama as “the only one that turned around to me, couldn’t have been a nicer guy.”
“I respect all presidents, present and past,” White said. “Not everyone does, and you have to listen to stupid sh*t like that sometimes, unfortunately, because I also believe in free speech.”
White acknowledged the difficult balance between condemning offensive speech and supporting free expression. He distanced the UFC organization from Hokit’s views but gave no indication of potential punishment.
The UFC has not issued any official statement about disciplinary action against Hokit. White’s comments suggest the promotion will not take steps against the fighter despite the controversy.
Hokit continues to maintain an active presence on social media following the incident. His June 20 post responding to Cormier remains visible on his X account.
