Former UFC welterweight contender Darren Till has publicly accused Mike Perry of avoiding a fight with him. Till claims Perry chose to take an easier matchup against Nate Diaz on Netflix instead.

Perry recently signed a deal to face Diaz in an MMA fight that will stream on Netflix in 2025. The announcement came after months of speculation about potential opponents for Diaz’s return to mixed martial arts.

Till Says Perry Took Easy Route

Till took to social media to voice his frustration with Perry’s decision. He accused the bare-knuckle boxing star of “running” from a potential showdown between the two fighters.

The British fighter has been calling out Perry for months. Till believes Perry deliberately chose Diaz to avoid the risk of fighting him.

Perry left the UFC in 2021 and has since competed primarily in bare-knuckle boxing. He became the BKFC King of Violence tournament champion and built a strong following in that sport.

Diaz also departed the UFC after his contract expired in 2022. He has competed in boxing matches since leaving the promotion but has expressed interest in returning to MMA outside the UFC.

Darren Till laughs at the entire #RouseyCarano event:

"Just a pair of f*cking Teletubbies fighting each other. Nate Diaz can’t string a sentence together, neither can Mike. It’s trash. American trash. … In fact, it’s a full card of mongoloids. Trash.”

Till’s last fight was a submission loss to Dricus Du Plessis in December 2022. He has not competed since that defeat and remains without a clear path back to active competition.

The Netflix deal represents a major opportunity for both Perry and Diaz. The streaming platform has been expanding its combat sports programming and offering fighters alternative revenue streams.

Masvidal Reveals He Declined Same Offer

Jorge Masvidal revealed he was offered the same Netflix opportunity to fight Diaz. The former UFC star turned down the deal, stating that the UFC has better plans for his future.

Masvidal’s comments suggest multiple fighters were approached about facing Diaz on the streaming platform. Perry ultimately secured the spot after others passed on the offer.

The rejection by Masvidal adds context to Till’s accusations against Perry. It shows that other fighters had chances to take the Netflix deal but chose different paths.

Masvidal and Diaz fought at UFC 244 in 2019 for the BMF championship. Masvidal won that fight by third-round TKO due to a doctor’s stoppage.

Perry has not publicly responded to Till’s accusations. He has been focused on promoting his upcoming fight with Diaz and maintaining his bare-knuckle boxing career.

Till remains a free agent without a clear next opponent. His callouts of Perry have not resulted in any concrete fight negotiations between the two.

The Perry-Diaz Netflix fight does not have a confirmed date yet. Promoters have only announced the fight will take place sometime in 2025 on the streaming service.
