UFC President Dana White launched a personal attack on boxer Oscar De La Hoya during an interview at Zuffa Boxing 02 on February 2, 2026. The comments came after De La Hoya criticized White’s new boxing venture in a recent video.

De La Hoya had called Zuffa Boxing’s debut event a “club show” with unknown fighters and compared it to a COVID-era bubble show. He said the card looked like a sparring session and claimed there was a reason top promoters had passed on those fighters.

White Targets De La Hoya’s Financial Problems

White did not address De La Hoya’s specific criticisms about the boxing event. Instead, he focused on De La Hoya’s current business troubles.

“Oscar is on a sinking ship and will not shut the f–k up,” White said while sitting ringside. “He’s gonna have to throw the panties and f–king stockings back on and get on OnlyFans to start paying his rent.”

White referenced a reported $23 million office loan default at Golden Boy Promotions’ Los Angeles headquarters. According to Nightingale Associates, the 12-story building at 626 Wilshire Boulevard was only 60% occupied as of last summer and faces potential foreclosure.

Golden Boy Promotions recently lost its broadcast deal with DAZN and moved to a smaller platform called Swerve TV. These financial struggles gave White an opening to mock De La Hoya’s business situation.

Long History of Bad Blood Between Promoters

The feud between White and De La Hoya dates back to 2016 during the buildup to the Conor McGregor versus Floyd Mayweather fight. White has said De La Hoya switches between attacking him and trying to work with him.

White’s “panties and fishnets” comments refer to a 2007 scandal when photos of De La Hoya wearing women’s lingerie surfaced publicly. De La Hoya told Club Shay Shay in 2024 that he was drugged and set up by two women who came to his room with a suitcase.

“I was drugged up, I didn’t even know it,” De La Hoya said in that interview. “Women’s clothes, drugs, this, that. They set me up.”

De La Hoya has been posting “Clap Back Thursdays” videos on Instagram where he regularly mocks White and Zuffa Boxing. In one recent video, he said White promised to “reinvent the wheel” and “take over boxing” but delivered only “smoke and mirrors.”

White appeared frustrated that De La Hoya continues to criticize his boxing venture despite facing his own business challenges. “His ship is sinking very fast, and he’s talking s–t all the way down,” White said.

The UFC president joked to the camera after his rant, asking if that was what people wanted to hear. White has faced criticism from multiple boxing promoters, including Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn, since launching Zuffa Boxing.

White’s comments were captured by social media personality Nina Drama and quickly spread across boxing and MMA communities. The interview took place ringside at the second Zuffa Boxing event, held at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
