Sean OโMalley vs. Kris Moutinho just finished so Irene Aldana vs. Yana Kunitskaya is starting in a moment.
Round one
A touch of gloves and we’re underway. Kunitsay comes out and takes control of the center of the octagon. Low kicks already landing for Kunitskaya. Left body kick from Kunitskaya now. Spinning kick misses for Kunitskaya, now she’s pushing Aldana back to the cage. Aldana turns but not for long as Kunitskaya keeps the momentum for another rotation. Kunitskaya’s nose is bleeding. She lands a jab but Aldana finds the timing on her counter punches and lands cleanly. A low kick for Aldana connects now too. Kunitskaya’s strikes don’t appear to have much power at this stage and most are just bouncing off Aldana’s guard without significant impact. Aldana’s fighting patiently but the fight changes instantly when she lands a heavy punch that floors Kunitskaya. She’s now going for the ground and pound finish but Kunitskaya is managing to keep a defensive guard. Aldana playing with the standing guard game now with Kunitskaya and seemed to be wasting a great opportunity to either let her stand back up or follow up for ground and pound but she finds a chance to come down to the mat and then rains down heavy ground and pound to finish the fight. Kunitskaya is a bloody mess and referee Jason Herzog ends it swiftly.
