Despite all the changes, UFC Vegas 15 will still feature Jack Hermansson in the main event. For now, at least.
Hermansson meets Marvin Vettori in a middleweight headliner this Saturday at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas. Of course, he was originally set to face Darren Till and later Kevin Holland, only for injury and a positive COVID-19 test leading to their respective withdrawals.
Instead, “The Joker” will now face a new short-notice opponent in Marvin Vettori who will not only look to earn the biggest win of his career, but also insert himself into potential middleweight title contention.
Interestingly, when the fight was originally booked, Hermansson opened as a +140 underdog while Vettori was a -160 favorite.
And with just two days to go for the event, oddsmakers are still going with Vettori even if his odds have lengthened slightly as he now ranges from a -129 to -140 favorite. Hermansson, meanwhile, ranges from a +105 to +123 underdog.
That means you would have to bet $129 to win $100 on Vettori while a $100 stake on Hermansson would earn you a profit of as much as $123.
These odds are certainly surprising as most would have expected the more experienced Hermansson — notably a winner of five of his last six outings — to be the betting favorite. However, that just makes it even more enticing to bet on the Swede.
