Well, this is a weird one.
Today, UFC featherweight Dan Ige (11-2) revealed on Twitter that he gave a blood sample to a “nice foreign lady” he believed to be a U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) representative.
So pissed off someone came over this morning I thought it was @usantidoping @USADA_UFC they took my blood and everything and come to find out these people went to the wrong house address and did not work for usada WTF!!!!! 🤬🤬🤬

Apparently, one or more persons collecting blood for an entirely different purpose – and person, for that matter – mistakenly visited Ige’s home and took a sample of his blood.
Ige accepted responsibility for the mix-up, saying, “this is my fault”, but explained his logic for going along with the strangers’ requests.
To Ige, it simply made too much sense that a 6:30 AM wakeup to collect a blood sample was USADA performing one of their standard tests.
I’m so mad, and sure of this is my fault… When someone rings your doorbell six times at 6:30 AM saying they’re here to take your blood I was just cooperating thinking it’s USADA now I probably have aids

A fan pressed Ige in the replies to his original tweet, confused that Ige would go along with the collector’s requests. Ige replied in turn that, again, it seemed like an average USADA visit: no uniforms, electronic paperwork, and sample collection.
When you are part of an anti-doping agency and you get tested on the regular. Yes. These people never wear uniforms I asked if there was any paperwork and they said it’s all electronic which also seem normal because I always fill it out my declaration on an iPad

As of the writing of this article, it’s unclear what the purpose of Ige’s visitor’s sample collection was, and neither is from whom the sample was actually supposed to have been taken. Ige is taking the incident in stride, though, responding to FanSided MMA editor Amy Kaplan’s quote-tweet with a humorous response:

Dan Ige, 27, signed with the UFC in 2017 following a submission win on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series. Since dropping his UFC debut to Julio Arce at UFC 220, Ige has been perfect inside the Octagon.
The Hawaiian is on a three-fight winning streak, most recently stopping Danny Henry in a dominant, one-round performance last month in London.
