Esteban Ribovics spent weeks sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber to prepare for the altitude in Salt Lake City ahead of his UFC 332 fight with King Green on October 3. The Argentine lightweight told reporters he used the chamber to simulate lower oxygen levels before the bout at Delta Center.
Ribovics arrived in Utah 10 days before fight week to help his body adjust to the conditions. He has been running in the mountains to further prepare for the altitude.
“When I found out that I was getting the fight, I actually slept for a couple of weeks in a hyperbaric chamber,” Ribovics said in a pre-fight interview. “I’m not sure if that’s the name they use for it, but basically it simulates not having as much oxygen.”
The 16-3 fighter said the preparation has gone well so far. He reported feeling good after his mountain runs and time spent adjusting to the city’s elevation.
“I am made for the bonus.”

Ribovics Targets Performance Bonus
Ribovics stopped Edson Barboza in his last fight after losing by submission to Mateusz Gamrot. He told UFC News that he expects an action-packed fight with the veteran striker and is hunting another bonus check.
“I’m made for the bonus, I work for the bonus, I train for the bonus,” Ribovics said. “King Green proposes a fight, like he comes in and is going to allow me to have a performance like that.”
The Argentine fighter knocked out Barboza with a vicious finish in August, adding to his growing highlight reel. He said a strong showing against Green could position him for a ranked opponent in the lightweight division.
Green carries a 36-17-1 record into the bout and is currently on a four-fight win streak. The 40-year-old veteran most recently knocked out Terrance McKinney and has fought five times in the past nine months.
Veteran Meets Rising Contender
Green predicted on “UFC Embedded” that someone would get knocked out in his fight with Ribovics. The veteran is known for his low hands, shoulder rolls and constant chatter that invite opponents into firefights.
Ribovics appears ready to accept that invitation. He has recorded multiple knockouts in his UFC career and retired the 40-year-old Barboza with his power in his most recent victory.
The fight takes place on the undercard of UFC 332, which features a women’s flyweight title fight between Natalia Silva and Wang Cong as the main event. Saturday’s card places emphasis on several young prospects and veterans looking to climb the rankings.
Green has built his reputation by prioritizing entertainment throughout his long career. In the later stages of his fighting days, he has become more consistent without sacrificing his aggressive style.
Ribovics said he did well with the hyperbaric chamber training and feels confident heading into the fight. The lightweight arrives in Salt Lake City with 18 of his 16 professional wins coming by knockout or submission.
