Former Bellator champion Patricio Pitbull will face Dooho Choi in a featherweight bout at UFC 331 on Saturday, September 19, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Choi enters as the betting favorite with odds ranging from -250 to -275, while Pitbull sits as an underdog at +208 to +226.

The fight appears on the main card beneath the flyweight title rematch between Joshua Van and Alexandre Pantoja. The event begins at 9 p.m. ET on Paramount+.

Choi, 35, brings a 17-4-1 record and three consecutive knockout wins into the matchup. He stopped Bill Algeo in 2024, finished Nate Landwehr later that year, and defeated Daniel Santos by second-round TKO in May.

The Santos victory earned Fight of the Night honors. Choi has 14 knockouts among his 17 total MMA wins.

Pitbull, 39, has struggled since joining the UFC late in his career. The Brazilian is 1-2 in the promotion after losing a decision to Yair Rodriguez in his debut, beating Dan Ige by decision, and dropping a unanimous decision to Aaron Pico in April.

    Physical Advantages and Fighting Styles

Choi stands 5-foot-9 with a 70-inch reach, giving him a four-inch height advantage and 4.5-inch reach edge over the 5-foot-5 Pitbull. That range could prove important against Pitbull’s compact frame.

Pitbull built his Bellator career on counter punching, guillotine threats, and smart cage work. He was a three-time Bellator featherweight champion and held the lightweight title simultaneously in 2019.

The Brazilian has 37 career victories with 12 knockouts and 12 submissions. He has stopped opponents with punches, knees, guillotines, heel hooks, and rear-naked chokes throughout his career.

Choi spent four years away from competition due to injuries and mandatory military service before returning to the UFC. His boxing has improved during that time, and he has become quicker to incorporate takedowns into his offensive game.

    Betting Lines and Predictions

The opening line made Choi a -205 favorite with Pitbull at +177. Betting action has since moved in Choi’s direction.

A -250 price implies roughly a 70% chance of victory for Choi. Current prediction market pricing places Choi between 67% and 70% to win, with Pitbull near 30% to 34%.

Bettors laying -250 on Choi must risk $250 to profit $100. A $100 bet on Pitbull at +208 would return $308 total if the Brazilian wins, representing a $208 profit.

Pitbull has lost six decisions in his career but remains difficult to finish cleanly at featherweight. He also has 13 decision wins, showing his ability to navigate longer fights.

Choi’s recent victories came in the third and second rounds rather than early stoppages. His performance against Pico showed Pitbull struggling with opponents who use their range advantage while staying active with jabs and feints.

The fight is positioned in the featherweight portion of the main card. The co-main event features a five-round bout between Arman Tsarukyan and Maurício Ruffy.
