Lightweight fighters Jalin Turner and Kaue Fernandes will meet on the UFC 330 main card Saturday at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. Multiple fight analysts are backing the underdog in what promises to be an action-packed striking battle.

Turner enters the fight as the favorite with odds of -130 to -160 at major sportsbooks. Fernandes sits as the underdog at +106 to +125.

    Fernandes Riding Three-Fight Win Streak

Fernandes brings an 11-2 record into the fight with a 3-1 mark in the UFC. The 31-year-old Brazilian has won three straight fights dating back to 2024.

His recent victories include wins over Mohammad Yahya, Guram Kutateladze, and Harry Hardwick. The Hardwick fight ended in the first round, earning Fernandes a Performance of the Night bonus.

In that last bout, Fernandes used leg kicks to finish Hardwick. His striking skills and distance control have made him a dangerous opponent despite not fighting on many main cards.

Turner holds a 15-9 record with an 8-6 mark in the UFC. The American fighter stands 6-foot-3 with a 77-inch reach, giving him a six-inch height advantage and four-inch reach advantage over Fernandes.

    Turner Coming Off Brief Retirement

The tall lightweight returned from a short retirement in December at UFC 323. He stopped Edson Barboza in that fight, ending a two-fight losing streak.

Turner’s average fight time is 6:47, the eighth-shortest among all active lightweight fighters. All 15 of his professional wins have come by knockout or submission.

However, Turner has shown defensive weaknesses in recent fights. He absorbed 23 leg kicks in a decision loss to Dan Hooker, raising questions about his ability to defend against Fernandes’ primary weapon.

Analyst Dan Tom from MMA Junkie predicts Fernandes will break down Turner’s legs and finish him on the floor in Round 2. Tom went 4-1 on his predictions at the last UFC event and is 87-45-1 on main cards in 2026.

Other experts agree with the underdog pick. They point to Fernandes’ leg kicks and Turner’s defensive vulnerabilities as key factors.

The fight has clear knockout potential on both sides. Oddsmakers are leaning toward a knockout finish rather than a decision.

Betting lines show the Under 1.5 rounds at -135, suggesting many expect an early finish. Four of Fernandes’ last five wins came by first-round knockout.

Turner has two first-round knockout wins in his last four fights. His counterstriking and boxing skills remain dangerous weapons.

Fernandes absorbs just 1.42 strikes per minute compared to 4.54 for Turner. The defensive numbers favor the Brazilian fighter.

Turner’s line initially opened around -180 at some sportsbooks but has moved toward Fernandes as fight night approaches. The movement suggests bettors are backing the underdog.

Fernandes trains at Nova Uniao in Brazil, a gym known for producing well-rounded fighters. Turner will need to avoid the leg kicks that have become Fernandes’ signature weapon.

The fight is expected to begin at approximately 10:10 p.m. ET on Saturday. The bout will stream live on Paramount+ as part of the UFC 330 main card.
