The launch date for Dapper Labs’ long-awaited UFC NFT experience has finally been announced.
The UFC and Dapper Labs have revealed that the first UFC Strike packs will be available for users this Sunday, January 23, at 11 am PST. The packs will contain video highlights of fighters such as Francis Ngannou, Kamaru Usman, Deiveson Figueiredo, Ciryl Gane, Rose Namajunas, and more.
Dapper Labs rose to fame in 2020 when the company teamed up with the National Basketball Association (NBA) to create NBA Top Shot. Top Shot is now a highly successful digital video non-fungible-token (NFT) marketplace for NBA highlights.
NBA Top Shot has already generated more than $865 million in sales from 14.8 million transactions and an average sale price of $58.45. Over 486,000 users currently trade on the platform.
In April 2021, David Shaw, the Senior Vice President of the UFC, spoke with Aaron Bronsteter spoke about the UFC’s decision to partner with Dapper Labs.
“I don’t believe there’s a sport better suited to this than ours,” Shaw said. “I think about some of the biggest moments in the UFC’s history that lend itself so well to a digital trading card like this. Whether it’s Conor knocking out Aldo, the Masvidal knee, Jones submitting Machida against the cage, all those moments are so memorable and visceral, and to own that, I think the value of these NFTs are going to surpass most other sports because they’re so important to the overall competition. These key moments in UFC history, I think are going to be much more sought after and much more coveted potentially than other sports.
“The other thing that is really cool is you think of some of the moments outside of competition. Whether it’s Conor grabbing Aldo’s belt on the world tour, the DC vs. Jones faceoff that went awry, or the Masvidal vs. Diaz press conference, those types of things we can take non-sports moments and put them into a digital trading card and they’ll still have significant value. We’re a global sport and these are going to have value all around the world.”
UFC Strike Pack Drop
The first UFC Strike pack drop happens this Sunday, January 23, at 11 am PST. Here’s all of the information that you need to know.

- Cost: $50 per pack (max. 5)
- Includes: Three UFC Strike moments
The “Fully Loaded” pack drop will contain three moments and contains a chance at one super-rare Champion Tier moment. The Champion Tier moments feature either current or former UFC champions and each of these packs will have a 0.375% chance of containing a Champion Tier moment.
A total of 100,000 packs will be available on Sunday and these packs will draw from a pool of 35 unique moments. Ten of these moments will be Champion Tier moments with a mint count of just 75 each. The remaining 25 moments will feature fighters such as Robbie Lawler, Khamzat Chimaev, Justin Gaethje, Tai Tuivasa, and more.
What is UFC Strike?
UFC Strike is the new Dapper Labs NFT marketplace that will allow users to buy, sell, and trade digital video NFTs of UFC highlights.
Much like NBA Top Shot, users can purchase special packs that include a collection of video highlights. Users can then freely list these highlights for sale or purchase more from other collectors.
